Catheters to Charlotte Maxeki:
Living with cancer is tough for anyone, but perhaps more so for children who don’t always understand what’s happening to them, and especially for those who aren’t able to have their parents with them during treatment.
So, whenever we can turn your donations into catheters or ports to make life a little easier for young patients, your support is a true blessing. Thank you.
Our dedicated band of knitters:
A soft toy of their own can give a sick child special comfort. And we have a special band of ladies who meet each week to lovingly knit Care Bears for children in our TLC ward in Polokwane. The bears come in many different colours, but each one has a little smiling face
that reflects the ‘get well’ wishes of their maker.
And there’s more:
From the Midstream and Bronberg Retirement complexes, the knitting needles have also been flying. And the result has been the donation of lovely ponchos, scarves, hoodies, blankets and gloves to young patients at the CANSA TLC Nicus Lodge. With the cold weather already upon us, these gifts of warmth are enormously appreciated.
Still too empty though is our winter clothing store for all ages. Think socks, vests, slippers
and other winter warmth items. If you can help, we’d love to hear from you. Wheelchairs for children in need would also be a huge help.
