Our annual Shavathon is much more than a fundraising event – although funds are always needed.
What’s so special about the event is its spirit of community, drawing South Africans from all walks of life and of all ages to come together in a bold show of solidarity with those affected by cancer.
This year’s Shavathon was no different in spirit and participation, deserving our huge vote of thanks for the funds generated by every person who took part.
One Shavathon supporter, Mandy Nel, shared her connection:
“Cancer has affected my life in so many ways. Though I’ve not had cancer myself, I’ve lost family members to the disease and have witnessed the resilience of survivors. Supporting the CANSA Shavathon reminds me of those who are still going through the cancer experience and those we have lost are never forgotten. It’s a way to show care and remind people that they are not alone.”
